Some of my favourite photographs have been achieved by not trying! By that I mean, just sitting back and allowing the moment to reveal itself. Too often when I rush from one photo to another, chasing to capture it, I end up missing some of the best moments.
When I was talking to my artist friend Atol Dupuche about this technique of not chasing to capture the moment, he suggested I revisit my love of art. But, this time apply the same technique from within. I had no idea what that meant at that stage, but after several lessons stretching over many days I found out!
This painting came about through meditative painting.
Every time the mind took over, the painting went in a bad direction. But when I ignored my mind and allowed the painting to reveal itself through me, the end result was much better. However, the real benefit comes not in the final painting, although I hope people like it, but in the deep relaxed state I enjoy whilst painting.
My paintings are available for sale as various print sizes and can be posted anywhere in the world.
Originals also available for sale, framed or unframed.
